The crowd spanned generations - there were as many over-50 Deadheads diving headlong into Goosedom as there were twentysomethings fully immersing themselves into the fun - possibly indicating that Goose’s rise is far from finished. To cap the evening, Goose was joined by String Cheese Incident percussionist Jason Hann, who lent his services for “Hot Tea,” a track that earned a particularly excited reaction from fans and closed out what was a pretty stirring second Los Angeles headlining performance from the band.Īlong the course of the night, it was apparent that Goose is becoming one of the most “important” acts of the contemporary “jam band” scene. We had such an amazing evening with you all. The band responded in kind, treating the gathered masses to a marathon concert that spanned roughly three hours (right up until the venue’s hard 11 p.m. The vibe was laid-back and celebratory, with many in attendance sporting Goose t-shirts or outfits paying tribute to other similar-minded musical acts like the Grateful Dead (whose iconography was very abundant). Goose is certainly making itself noticed in the community, and this was reflected at the Greek. The tour, which is named after the band’s recent album and has seen sold-out runs through many venues ( including the vaunted Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado), this outing has been a bit of a breakthrough for the group, which also recently announced a fall run with the Trey Anastasio Band. This past Sunday night, Connecticut-based indie/psychedelic/jam band Goose carried its ongoing Dripfield tour through the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
